Stock Market Starts with A Bang!

It was an incredible day! Everything was pushed up and I have to trim my QuickPick list inorder to post here. The much anticipated capricon effect or window dressing is finally here. We waited till our neck grew longer in December and some even gave up, taking a bearish stand. Strong GDP expectations was the reason behind this rally. Next reason for a sustained rally? Elections! hehe Yeah, after all the talk, it will be coming to a polling station near you very soon. keke Lucky for us who are trading shares, at least this is one of the way we can benefit indirectly from Elections. hehe The tight trading in December should bring about a powerful rally. It should not just end abruptly. If it does, look out for a big correction, just like the one in Oct'05. Meanwhile, trade with our eyes open, it's grow money time! Huat ah!!!!

I scanned through the market with my rules and hundreds of stocks came up! haha 1 thing to note, though up, banking and property sector have not breakout in their volume yet. 2 scenarios here, either they are running up on thin gas or they are the next to pop up!

There is a download problem with my trading tool and I can't post my charts tonight. Nevertheless, the charts that caught my attention were DataCraft (Resistance at 1.08) and UTAC(Resistance 0.740 broken). There are certainly alot more out there today. But do not be fooled! There are some which were pushed up and will be the first to retrace badly when the rally is over. Lookout! In this case, i prefer to stick with the big guns or counters that has Average daily volume of at least 1 million.

Rotary! Trading was suspended pending news. This is one of my favourite lesson from the market. The stock market never change! Because humans never change! Why did Livermore said that? How many times did we see a counter moved up alot before it releases the news? Obviously someone has been buying in anticipation! But how did that someone knew about it? There...it's human nature to take advantage of situation through greed. It has happened 70 years ago in Livermore's time and it still happens today in 2006! The chart formations, technical indicators will tell us something is brewing, it's left to us to decide on the risk/reward to get vested. Those who truly don't know Technical Analysis will think we are wasting our time betting on history repeating itself and they will say it's no guarantee same thing will happen twice. How wrong they were for they do not truly know human nature.

Afraid to buy at high? Too high will retrace? Look at ST-Eng, it never looked back since testing and breaking it's 52 weeks high at 2.70! Change that mentality if you still have it! : ) But make sure it's breakout from a proper chart base ok? Those anyhow run up no count hor! haha
